Gilmanton Food Pantry And
Thrift Shop News
The Gilmanton Food Pantry is making preparations for sponsorship of
the Adopt-A-Child project again this year. Toys and clothing are
purchased for those Gilmanton children in need of assistance.
Anyone wishing to help with this worthwhile project may either
adopt one child, one family of children or just purchase one gift on
a child’s wish list. For persons who may not have the time or
resources to go and shop for gifts, we will accept a monetary
donation and purchase the gift(s) on your behalf. We also accept
donations of wrapping paper and bows.
Just as a reminder, we are collecting items for Thanksgiving and
Christmas food baskets. All the usual things required for a holiday
meal. Especially cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, stuffing mix,
juice, sugar, coffee, cocoa, breakfast muffin mix, pickles, olives
as well as turkeys. We also accept donations of money to purchase
butter/margarine, milk, eggs, fresh fruit, potatoes, and onions.

Gilford High School Artists At Gilmanton Year-Round Library
One of the colorful collages created by Gilford High School students
to be shown at the Gilmanton Year-Round Library in November.
A reception is scheduled on November 15, 1-3 pm.
Gilford High School Expressions is the title of an art show
featuring the work of students, and curated by Caledonia Hackley,
Reese Henderson and Kassidy Morris. These one-of-a-kind
art pieces use the medium of print block making.
The curators report that “ideas for the print blocks were limitless,
but did require us to use no words or logos. We sketched an outline
on the block and continued to sculpt the design using Speedball
linoleum cutters.” Once the students finished cutting
out the block, they advanced to the next level of the assignment.
Each student put a color of their choice on a plastic plate, and
then used a brayer to smooth out the paint on the block. Next, they
put a piece of colorful paper on top of the painted block to make
the print come to life on the page. Each student was required to
make at least ten different prints. At the end of the printing
process, the students cut out shapes of their prints and created a
collection of collages. The collages selected are presented at the
Gilmanton Year-Round Library during the month of November.
The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception on
Saturday, November 15 from 1-3 pm. The collection will
be available for viewing during open hours at the Library. The
Library is located on NH Route 140 in Gilmanton Iron Works, across
from the Gilmanton School.

Year Round Library
(l - r) Association President Lieutenant Dennis Comeau / Gilmanton
Year Round Library Board of Director member Jennifer MacLeod.
On November 5, 2014, Association President Lieutenant Dennis Comeau
presented a defibrillator to Gilmanton Year Round Library Board of
Director member Jennifer MacLeod.
The defibrillator, was purchased and donated to the Gilmanton Year
Round Library by the Gilmanton Fireman’s Association. The funds were
raised by our fundraisers, which include the collection of monies
from NASCAR race fans.
“People have been very generous to us over the years” said Dennis
Comeau, “we exist to give back to the Town of Gilmanton and the
Gilmanton Fire Department. These funds were raised and earmarked for
the purchase of equipment that would benefit both the department and
the community as well.”
The equipment that the Association buys or donates, comes strictly
from monies raised through donations and not tax money. The
Association is made up of firefighters and medical personnel of the
Gilmanton Fire Department.
