On Saturday, May 18, Belknap County Conservative Republicans held an “introductory” event at Funspot at the Weirs in Laconia. “This event was to introduce our organization to the Laconia community. We are new and we wanted folks to have an opportunity to come out and get to know us,” says Don Walker, Founder of Belknap County Conservative Republicans.  The rally had around 150 people in attendance throughout the day. “We enjoyed some hotdogs and apple pie and were particularly pleased to see so many young, conservative families join us.  It was terrific to engage in dialogue centered on small government solutions to the many problems facing our state and country,” says Rep. Jane Cormier, Belknap District 8. “We hope this will be the first of many such events,” says Walker.

Belknap County Conservative Republicans embrace the NH Republican Platform and are working for conservatism to have a larger voice in local, county, and state government.  Their mission is to act as a vehicle to bring more conservative-minded supporters into the Republican party and through a grassroots effort, promote small government and personal liberty causes at each level of government.

Don Walker and Rep. Jane Cormier are available to speak about Belknap County Conservative Republicans and their mission. For more information visit: www.belknapcountyconservativerepublicans.com.

115th Gilmanton Old Home Day

Plans are under way for the 115th Gilmanton Old Home Day which is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2013. There will be an official opening at 10:00 am by the American Legion Ellis-Geddes-Levitt Post #102 and the event runs until 3:00 pm.

The Parker Hill Road Band will provide musical entertainment, and there will be children’s games and other activities. The Old Home Day will host a craft fair and local organizations are asked to consider a display and explanation of their activities. This year we will also be having animals on the lower slope for the enjoyment and education of all who attend. An antique auto show is being organized.

After cooking for eleven hours, our famous bean hole beans will be lifted from the wells and we’ll start the first seating at 11:30 am. This full course, all-you-can-eat dinner includes homemade pies and our famous kidney, pea and spicy beans with all the fixings.

To raise funds for the Old Home Day festivities, we are selling ads in our annual booklet. We wish to promote products and services within the region.  Call Barbara Angevine at 603-527-3414 before July 1st to purchase an ad.
