The Gilmanton Corner library has a raffle for “Superstars Of Vegas”
on August 25, at the Flying Monkey in Plymouth. Dana Z as Elvis,
(All Shook Up), James Brown Jr. (I Feel Good), Judy Teo as Tina
Turner and Aretha Frankilin, and Tony Funches from The Platters
(Only You.) It is sure to be a night to remember!
One chance is $2.00 or 3 chances for $5.00. There will be two
drawings of four tickets each, so you can bring your friends!

GCC Food Pantry And Thrift Shop News
$5.00 per Bag! That’s right folks. $5.00 will get you a brown paper
bag full of clothing and accessories at the GCC Thrift Shop.
We are adding new items daily and we are even pulling down some of
our winter clothing. So come on in and see what you can pickup for
the rest of the summer or for back to school and fall. We have
wonderful clothing and accessories for the entire family and name
brands abound. So come on down to the GCC Thrift Shop for the $5.00
bag sale. The sale runs from Monday, July 30th thru Saturday,
August 18th. Remember that all proceeds from the sales at the Thrift
Shop go to support the GCC Food Pantry.
We do still have a couple of items left from our yard sale. We have
a beautiful handcrafted wooden mantle/bar, a “like new” Maytag
dryer, and a very beautiful organ (not in the greatest “playing”
condition but very ornately crafted). If you are interested in any
of the items, call Jane Sisti at 364-7437 or Beth Lavin at 267-1934.
We are still collecting items for our backpack/school supplies
program at the Food Pantry. Items collected will be distributed to
children in need in the Gilmanton School District.
Some items needed are 12 ct. colored pencils, 3” binders with slide
in plastic cover, 8 oz. bottle of hand sanitizer, box of tissues, 8”
pencils boxes, rulers, 1” binders with slide in plastic cover,
scientific calculator, book covers, (regular and extra large) marble
composition books, #2 pencils, pens, and highlighters. For a
complete list, come by the GCC Food Pantry and Thrift Shop.
Items need to be donated to the Pantry no later than August 11th.
The earlier the better is appreciated though.
If you have donations of food for the pantry, it can be brought into
the Food Pantry during business hours or left in one of our
collection boxes. Boxes are located at the Gilmanton School,
Academy Building and at the Year Round Library.

We are located on Route 140 in Gilmanton Iron Works, across from the
Iron Works Market. We are open on Monday 1 pm – 5 pm,
Wednesday 3 pm – 7 pm, and Saturday 10 am – 2 pm. Parking is
located in the Gilmanton Community Church parking lot just west of
the shop.
Fall 2012 Gilmanton Youth Organization (GYO) Soccer Sign-ups
• Saturday, August 11th from 10 am - 3 pm at Gilmanton Old Home Day
(Smith Meeting House)
• Monday, August 13th from 6-7 pm at the Gilmanton School
• Tuesday, August 21st from 5:30-7:00 pm at the PTA Back to School
Bash (Crystal Lake Park)
Sign-ups for Gilmanton Youth Soccer are open to Gilmanton children
Kindergarten through 6th grade. Looking for boys and girls to learn
and play soccer, whether you’ve played before or not. Cost is $40
per child which includes jersey, $50 for late sign-ups (after August
21st) if space allows. The season runs from late August through
early November.
GYO was formed in 1990 to promote athletics, sportsmanship, and
teamwork. We would like you to be part of this great organization.
GYO is always looking for parent volunteers. Even if you have never
coached before, we are always looking for head coaches, assistant
coaches, and other volunteers to help.
