Gilmanton NH News

January 5, 2011

It’s time again, and during the holidays there is often a high demand for blood.  On Thursday, January 6th from 3:30 to 8:00 pm, there will be a Red Cross Blood Drive at the Pittsfield Elementary School on Bow Street, sponsored by the PTO.  To avoid wait time you may call 1-800-Red-Cross (1-800-733-2767) for an appointment.  However, walk-ins are welcome.

While you help save lives by giving blood, Dunkin’ Donuts is offering “Give a pint - Get a pound”.  Child care is provided for your convenience.

January Is Jan Brett Month At The Gilmanton Corner Library

The Gilmanton Corner Library will feature children’s author Jan Brett and her beautifully illustrated “winter theme” books during the month of January.

The library has many of her wonderful books: The Hat, The Mitten, On Noah’s Ark, The Three Snow Bears, Hedgie Loves To Read, Annie and the Wild Animals etc. Each book will have its own coloring page along with mazes and recipes: Annie’s Corn Cakes, Hedgehog Cookies, and Troll Stew to name a few. Jan’s latest book, The Three Little Daisies will have a January calendar to take home with you.

For the adults we have the latest in fiction, authors: David Baldacci, Jan Karon, Lee Child, Vince Flynn, John Grisham, Dennis Lehane, Nichlos Sparks, and Debbie Macomber,

Remember we have passes to the Currier Museum, The New Hampshire Historical Museum and for the kids, SEE Science Museum for those weekends with nothing to do.

Please drop in at the library Wednesdays 3-5 or Saturdays 10-12 or call to reserve your favorite book at 267-6200.
