Letter
Attention Gilmanton Families:
This past week the concession stand at
GYO Park on Allen’s Mills Road was broken into again, and items were stolen.
Replacing items that are taken from the concession stand only takes away
from the children of this town. There are no “profits” in our organization.
Every cent that is made goes back into the organization. Whether equipment
or continuing improvements to the field, all donated and raised funds go
back into making this the best introduction to team sports it can be.
We are asking if anyone knows of or has heard of who may be involved,
please contact the Gilmanton Police Department at 364-7400.

Gilmanton Historical Society Seeks Photos 1920-1945
Pat Clarke and John Dickey are preparing the Gilmanton Historical Society’s
presentation for July 27th on Gilmanton from 1920 into the 1940s. To
illustrate the program, drawn from newspaper reports, they are seeking
photographs of Gilmanton from the period. So take out your albums from back
then and see what you find. Of special interest would be people working on
WPA projects during the 1930s.
Pat and John will borrow the photographs
for a day or two, scan them, and return them to you promptly.
To share your photos, and memories of the time, be in touch with Pat Clarke
at [email protected] or
267-8428 or John Dickey at
[email protected] or 267-6098.
This is the third in a series of presentations on the history of
Gilmanton prepared by Pat Clarke for the Gilmanton Historical Society. The
Society has published a history based on the series entitled “Gilmanton, the
Evolution of a New Hampshire Hill Town 1880 to 1940. It is available for $15
at Society programs, at the Brick House, and from the Town Clerk.
