Gilmanton Corner Public Library
The “second” pass for visiting a museum has just arrived and is waiting for
a library member to visit the SEE Science Center in Manchester.
This pass is for the immediate family plus grandpa and grandma!!! What a
great day you can have enjoying this hands-on museum and you won’t have to
travel to VT or Boston to visit a science museum. This now gives the Library
two passes to have available to the community providing one adult is a
member of the Gilmanton Corner Public Library.
We have been so fortunate to receive a laptop and printer which will make
copies for those who need a copy or two. We are only going to charge ten
(10) cents a copy and it will save you a trip into Laconia or Tilton. Stop
by any Wednesday, 3:00 to 5:00 or Saturday, 10:00 to noon during the spring
to do your copying.
Those who have been waiting to read DEWEY by Vicki Myron can do so as this
book was donated to the Li brary very recently. The book is a true story
about the small-town orange and white cat who touched the world!!!
The Best Night Ever For Second Grade
On March 4th, The Gilmanton School second graders hosted Famous Americans
Night for family and friends.
The students chose a famous American to research. Important facts were
learned by reading biographies about the person’s life. Then, a report,
timeline, and model of the person were created.
The students came to the parent night dressed as the person they studied.
Presidents, athletes, inventors, Native Americans and explorers were all
there! Family and friends learned so much about these Americans through a
scavenger hunt of questions generated by the students. The completed
scavenger hunt sheets were used as raffle tickets for prize winners at the
closing of the event. It was the best night ever!
