Letter
We have been fortunate to have the excellent
representation of Senator Kathy Sgambati for
two years. We’ll be even more fortunate to
have her fighting for our interests in the
coming two.
It is not an easy path to balance the
public’s demand for quality public services,
a healthy environment, our personal freedoms
and prosperity and still be considered “NH
frugal.” But that’s exactly what Senator
Sgambati does so well.
The next two years will pose even greater
challenges. Kathy’s commitment to listen to
her constituents, combined with her fine
capacity to find real solutions to problems
that have plagued NH for years, and her
compassion to do what’s right means our
district will weather this economic storm.
None of us knows how long it’s going to take
to turn the situation around, but Kathy
knows the importance of working together and
watching out for people in their hour of
need. She will stand guard in Concord and
make sure NH keeps its promise to its
citizens. She will ask the tough questions
that need to be asked; and even if the right
answer is something that’s hard to hear,
she’ll listen, talk to her constituents and
then carefully and cautiously act. This is
her way, and it will be our way, if we
re-elect her on November 4th. I encourage
you to cast your vote for Kathy Sgambati.

Gilmanton Corner Public Library Halloween
Party and Winter Hours
Our Annual Halloween Party will be held
Friday, October 31 from 5:00 to 7:00 at the
Gilmanton Corner Public Library. Come for
your treat!!!! All witches, baseball
players, skeletons and costumed folks are
welcome.
Starting Saturday, November 1, 2008, the
Gilmanton Corner Public Library will be on
their Winter Hours. We will be open only on
Saturdays from 10:00 to noon. This gives
everyone the opportunity to drop in to
borrow a book on the way to the Recycling
Center. If you want, you can hunker down in
a chair and read for a while beside our two
stoves to keep you warm.
Our fall theme is Native American and you
can come and discover our Native American
Heritage with books and displays. We are
continuing our year long That All People May
Be One theme with the grant books for all
ages: Native American Tales and Others, Who
Will Remember My Brother, Remember My Name,
Walk Two Moons and Somebody Always Singing
You. Many books will be available on Native
American cultures, crafts and their famous
people. Please join us for this special
month and theme.
Stop in also to see our new wooden,
adjustable bookcases recently installed.
These new bookcases give us additional book
space as well as architecturally fit in with
the others. Our four book sales this year
paid for these new additions.
As always, we have a very fine collection of
popular author’s books for sale. The ones in
excellent condition will make a nice
birthday or Christmas gift for the bookworm.
Why travel out of town for your gifts!!!!
See you on Saturdays starting November 1
from 10:00 to noon - winter hours will be
posted on the door as there will be a few
exceptions around the holidays or snow
storms. Drop in Saturday mornings, borrow a
book from our toasty warm library before
going out to do errands.
