On Wednesday, January 4
at 1:30, movie matinées continue at the Epsom Public Library with
the showing of “Florence Foster Jenkins.” Starring Meryl
Streep and Hugh Grant.
The film is based on the
true story of Florence Bayfield, a New York socialite who dreams of
becoming a great opera singer. The voice she hears in her head is
hilariously awful to others and her beloved husband tries to make
her performance at Carnegie Hall a success.
Michael McKenna of
Preview This says that “Meryl Streep gives another Oscar-caliber
performance.” It is said that this comedy hits all the right
notes.
In case of bad weather,
please call the library at 736-9920 to make sure we are plowed out
and open.
