Movie Matinee at the Epsom Library

What a novel  idea!  Don’t like to go out in the evening in the winter?  Please join us on Tuesday, January 13 at 2:00 pm to watch the movie “The Hundred-Foot Journey”, starring Helen Mirren, Om Puir, Manish Dayal and Charlotte LeBon.  Produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey, this uplifting story has passion and heart.  When the chilly chef proprietress of a Michelin-starred French restaurant in southern France learns that a culinary immigrant is opening an Indian restaurant just 100 feet from her own, her protests escalate to an all out war between the two establishments.  This film is a combination of two cultures in a love story about food!  It is rated PG.

Pop corn and soft drinks will be served.

The Epsom Food Pantry

Well, I missed last week and that probably is a good thing. Gives your eyes a rest from all my chitter chatter.  But anyway, we did have a great time with the Christmas Food boxes and I think everyone was pleased with what they got.

The actual distribution went great both at Meadowbrook and the Town Hall.  Peter and his team did an outstanding job and back at the Town Hall the kids that worked there were awesome, both in unloading and distributing them to the members.

Not only did we get some wonderful food donations but we received some wonderful monetary donations. One little gal from Epsom, Riley Carignan, gave us her earnings from a Craft Fair that she was a part of. Wasn’t that something? And then there are all the anonymous donors who have stepped forward on a regular basis to give us a helping hand. It goes without saying that as we start our new year, the Epsom Pantry has been a success and from all the folks at the Pantry we send our good wishes and heartfelt thanks to all.

I cannot end this article without a personal thanks to our Selectmen who have been so supportive.

Until next time,

Priscilla
