Get Fit NH To Offer Six Week High Performance Hip Clinic

Concord fitness expert’s workshop to focus on benefits of hip flexibility

Weekend warriors’ running injuries, a nagging sore back and chronically achy knees are all very common complaints that, surprisingly, can be caused by hip dysfunction. Sitting all day at work can also lead to pain and decreased mobility.

Get Fit NH Concord is offering a six week series designed to restore proper function and train the hips to work properly. Students will learn a progressive method of restoring hip function, including bioenergetics (proper breathing), core stability and control, mobility, flexibility, and active self-myofascial release.

Erin Constantin, certified Functional Movement Systems specialist and creator of the program says, “The importance of hip flexibility to our overall health cannot be overstated. It doesn’t just affect athletic performance. Joint health is critical to aging well, and keeping a high level of function for our entire life.” The six-week series is open to the public and begins with an optional introductory workshop on Wednesday January 21 with the series itself kicking off Wednesday February 4 at Get Fit NH in Concord. For more information, call 344-2651 or go to www.getfitnh.com for enrollment and pricing.

Get Fit NH offers professional group fitness and nutrition coaching in a fun, fast paced and supportive environment at its locations in Concord and Epsom. Erin and all of Get Fit NH’s coaches are passionate about helping people. Call today and ask about our Functional Movement Screen and how it will help you lose fat, get lean, and look and feel great!

Letter To The Editor

I would like to introduce myself as a candidate running for the position of Road Agent.  My name is Scott Elliott, my family roots go back 6 generations in the town of Epsom and have always cared deeply for their home town. My feelings are the same and that is why I would like to work for the residents of this town, maintaining and keeping our roads safe.

I am a very frugal person, and with our taxes on the rise, I feel I have the experience to maintain our roads in an efficient manner without compromising quality and safety of work.

My work experience includes 30 plus years in the area of building and maintaining roads, I previously worked 5 years for the highway department in Epsom.  In that time I gained extensive knowledge of our road system and highway department.

I welcome any questions or comments you may have for me, I can be reached by phone at 509-0595, or email at [email protected].

Thank you,

Scott Elliott

Epsom Food Pantry

Another busy week for Ken and his workers at the Food Pantry. To keep a well stocked pantry, it is an ongoing endeavor to keep abreast of the needs and the ability to find the item. If it’s not in our usual deliveries, that is where Liz takes over and is constantly looking for deals or freebies, you name it. So, if you have any coupons such as we get in the papers, feel free to drop them off either at the Pantry or at my office on Route 28 North.

We received a nice donation from Planet Aid Inc. from whom we have received before.

Also, a nice remembrance from the South Pittsfield Community Club. It just amazes me the generosity of people not only in our town but other towns.

It goes without saying, you folks who prefer to remain anonymous, that we are forever grateful for your support, both in money and in food. Also the folks at our library are just wonderful with their caring help to us.

Until next time,

Priscilla
