Michele’s Totally Awesome Gourmet Popcorn Goes Hollywood!
Invited to participate in the celebrity gifting suite for the 2012
Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, Michele’s Totally Awesome Gourmet
Popcorn flew out to sunny LA with boxes and suitcases full of their
delicious gourmet popcorn a little over a week ago.
"We were so excited to be invited to such a fun celebrity event,"
said Michele Holbrook, owner of Michele’s. Young talent such as
Amandla Stenberg: "Rue in The Hunger Games; Nolan Gould: "Luke
Dunphy in Modern Family", Kyle Masse, Clayton Mattingly, Cameron
Boyce as well as many others went home with a gift bag filled with
Jack Frost Jumble, Buffalo Ranch, and Caramel popcorn flavors from
Michele’s.
The event, held in a filming studio in Hollywood, CA, took place the
day before the Kids’ Choice Award show. Michele’s Sweet Shoppe, LLC,
one of approximately twenty vendors, were there to gift the "talent"
who attended.
"Kevin Sorbo, of Hercules fame, as well as an attendee at the
gifting suite, hosts a celebrity golf tournament and expressed
interest in our popcorn for his golf tournament. That would be
really cool if he decided to contact us." says Holbrook.
To date Michele’s Totally Awesome Gourmet Popcorn has been included
in SWAG bags for the 2010 Sport Emmys, the 2010 Daytime Emmys, and
the 2009 and 2010 Today Show Golf Tournament. Since their return
from LA, their Hollywood contact has invited them to a future
Hollywood gifting suite. The future is looking bright for this NH
business.

families, the Epsom Bible Church will be holding a free clothing
swap on Saturday, May 12th, from 9-12 noon at 398 Blackhall Road in
Epsom.

you are free to begin gathering clothing in the sizes you need.
Any clothing left at the end of the swap will be delivered to a
local charity drop off site. Volunteers for the clothing swap would
be appreciated.

Letter
To my constituents in Allenstown, Epsom, and Pittsfield:
This week the House met very briefly to name a few things, including
SB391, which names a segment of Route 107 in Deerfield for the
Honorable Joseph Stone. We also amended SB394, reclassifying
Province Road in Strafford, and to authorize the Adjutant General to
spend $2 million in federal funds to renovate the armory in Milford.
I convinced the House to concur with the Senate amendment of HB624,
on setting fees in rules: the Senate cut the rule-making changes
out, since the study committee has not completed its work of
analyzing the fees actually set in rules.
The most important House action was the approval of SB202,
apportioning the Congressional districts. HB1671, the House version,
was passed three weeks ago and merely equalized the districts by
moving two towns from CD2 to CD1. SB202 was actually worked out by
the two Congressmen, it swaps three towns for three and equalizes
the population to within two people. Since the numbers were close to
perfect and the Congressmen were both satisfied with the results, I
was happy to vote for it. It passed 239-95 with Dan and Jon
supporting.
My committee met to hear SB314, on state owned vehicles. It’s a very
short, simple bill requiring state employees who use state vehicles
for any non-business use to reimburse the state for this usage.
Sounds good, until we found out that "non-business" is defined by
the IRS and includes such things as taking a hazardous waste
response truck home when you’re on call for emergencies! A
subcommittee is working to carve out these obvious cases and look at
some of the other unintended consequences.
Interested readers can email me for my newsletter, with more details
than I can fit in a letter.
