Epsom NH News

September 14, 2011

The Suncook Valley Sun News Archive is Maintained by Modern Concepts. We are NOT affliated in any way with the Suncook Valley Sun Newspaper.

Don’t forget the Flu Shot Clinic being held at the Pittsfield Senior Center (downstairs) next week Wednesday, September 14th from 10 am to noon.

Ivy Green Rebekah Lodge #36 would like to thank everyone in the community for helping to make our shower for the Concord Hospital Infant Layette Program such a huge success. We were able to donate many items to the program. The Lodge received a heartfelt thank you from Carla Roth, director of the program and the Lodge hopes to continue this very worthwhile event next year. Special thanks to Jen Prusia and Jen Army for organizing the event.

The Lodge would also like to thank everyone who donated pies for this year’s Old Home Day supper.

Epsom Bible Church Awana Clubs

Awana Clubs at Epsom Bible Church will begin the 2011-2012 season on Thursday night, September 15th. This will be our 25th year of having Awana Clubs and we are thankful for the things God has accomplished through this program in previous years.

For those of you who may not be familiar, Epsom Bible Awana Clubs are a branch of Awana International, which started in the early 1950s in a Chicago church and has grown into a worldwide program teaching boys and girls the Word of God in unique ways. Awana Clubs offered at Epsom Bible include Cubbies for girls and boys ages 3 and 4, Sparks for girls and boys in school grades K-2, as well as Truth and Training for girls and boys in grades 3 through 6.

Each Awana night consists of a game time, handbook time, and council time. Once or twice a month we plan a special theme night. We try to make our clubs as fun and exciting as possible. During Council time one of our leaders or a special guest speaker presents a message from the Bible, and awards are presented to those clubbers who have earned them for completing handbook work. If your children, or you, attended Awana in the past, you will find that most all of the handbooks have been recently updated.

Our Clubs are open to all children in the Epsom area, and we would love to have your children attend. You do not need to be a member of, or attend, Epsom Bible Church, for your children to attend.  Come to Club on the 15th or any Thursday evening thereafter between 6:15 and 6:30 pm. Club starts at 6:30 and we end the evening at 8:00.

Epsom Bible Church is at 398 Black Hall Road, approximately 3/4 miles past the Epsom Central School on the same side of the road (look for the big sign out front).

If you have any questions or would like more information call Kim or Paul Sanborn at 798-5050 or email at: [email protected].

We also had our monthly jury of new members and consignors which happens the first Thursday of every month, except for December.  We are welcoming a new consignor,  Jan Hoadley who creates fantastic reed baskets, some are multi-colored, in many sizes and styles.

Walter Durak is the husband of new member, Gretchen Durak, who makes Americana quilts and crafts.  He has created household metal art, that is extremely creative and functional, you won’t find any of his items anywhere else. These particular items are made of horseshoes.  You must come in and see them for yourself.  Both artists inventory have met our high standards of quality and creativity, you will not be disappointed.  As with everyone of our Artists who are either Members or Consignors, you will be purchasing a fine N.H. craft item.
