Continuing With Ron Paul # 3:
As President, Ron Paul states his priorities will
be:
• Balancing the federal budget and ending deficit
spending. He has earned the nickname "Dr. No" as a U.S. Congressman
for voting against wasteful federal spending. He hopes to be called
"President No."
• Protecting the lives of the unborn.: Abortion .
• Protecting the 2nd Amendment: Gun Rights
• Securing our Borders.: You can’t have open borders
and a welfare state and survive.
• Protecting our national security and our
sovereignty. He will stop using our brave soldiers as the world’s
policemen, and will end nation-building overseas so we can focus on
rebuilding our nation.
That’s just the beginning. But it’s a good
beginning. And the best part - you will always know where President
Ron Paul stands. It will be with the American people and the
Constitution.
You see, the way to figure out what a candidate will
do in office isn’t only to listen to what they say during a
campaign. The best way is to look at their record. Look at what
they’ve done. Look at who has been a leader on issues of importance
across the board to conservatives.
I believe that if you look at who has led the way on
budgets, in defense of the unborn, and for gun rights, as well as
who has fought the longest and hardest against the political
establishment of both parties - well, I hope you’ll see that the
only answer is Ron Paul. Please vote in the primary election.

To my constituents in Allenstown, Epsom, and
Pittsfield:
This week, the House effort is on finishing the
retained bills and new bills for next year, since they all must be
signed off by November 2.
I’m sponsoring six bills this year – cutting back
since I was unable to give the dozen bills I sponsored last year
enough attention. The first is a request from the people of Epsom,
allowing warrant articles to show the estimated tax impact. I hope
this can pass in time for town meeting.
Then I have three bills that came from my experience
on JLCAR, the Joint Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules.
One specifies under what circumstances the Board of Medicine can
share confidential information from its investigations. Another
expands the insurance department’s ability to use industry standard
language and formatting, rather than the state mandated style, for
their rules. The third addresses problems with the Board of Mental
Health Practice, addressing late renewals, display of the patients’
bill of rights, and holding off investigations of alleged
incompetence until a court case is complete. These were brought up
by the psychologists, but need to be addressed for all the
professions.
Another bill was requested by a constituent,
requiring the police standards and training academy to develop
guidelines for the proper operation of police departments. I added a
requirement that gifts and grants be approved by governor and
council, and changed the flow of funds from penalty assessments
(mostly traffic tickets) to the general fund rather than the
dedicated police academy fund.
Finally, I have a bill requiring the fiscal notes we
use to assess the cost of a new law consider the effect on
businesses and citizens, not just the government. It can’t be exact,
but at least we’ll have an indication of the full costs.

Pembroke Academy Presents Its First PG-13 Musical,
The Chilling Jekyll And Hyde
The Pembroke Academy Players will perform Jekyll and
Hyde: The Musical in the Pembroke Academy Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on
November 3, 4, and 5, as well as a 2:00 matinee on Saturday at
Pembroke Academy, 209 Academy Road, Pembroke, NH. As the high
school’s first PG-13 production, the show tells the tale of
transformation, love, and fear. Tickets cost $8 in advance and $10
at the door.
"I am very impressed with the cast and crew; they
are a very talented group," said Miss Johnson, a Pembroke Academy
professor. "Come see Jekyll and Hyde the musical – you just may
leave singing ‘Murder Murder,’ followed by an evil laugh."
This MTI Production features Matthew Persons as the
desperate Jekyll and sadistic Hyde. He dazzles listeners with his
tenor voice and thrills the audience with his changing persona.
Jennifer Currier, previously highlighted in St.
Paul’s Macbeth, plays the lovable Lucy, a bordello girl drawn to the
security of Jekyll’s seemingly stable world.
"We want to amaze the audience, and then bring them
to tears," said Holly Dunlea, director and Pembroke Academy
professor.
Due to the mature nature of the show and sudden loud
noises, this show is not recommended for infants or young children.
Curves Happenings
Curves of Epsom wanted to send out a huge Thank You
to everyone who donated cupcakes or materials to our Making Strides
Against Breast Cancer fundraising cupcake sale held back on October
14th. Special thanks to Hannaford of Concord for donating the
plastic cupcake containers, to Shaws of Loudon Rd., Concord for
their donation of two dozen pink ribbon cupcakes and to Panera on
Fort Eddy Rd., Concord for the donation of two dozen of their
signature Pink Ribbon bagels. We also could not have held this event
without the dozens of cupcakes donated by our Curves ladies and
members of our "Walkers For Healthy Knockers" breast cancer team.
Our cupcake event raised $252.00! This year the "Walkers For Healthy
Knockers" team did an amazing job in their fundraising efforts for
the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event held in Concord on
Sunday, October 16th. Out of approximately 170 registered teams, our
team was the #3 highest fundraising team at the event, raising
$12,575 as of that day! We will be collecting donations both in
person and online until November 15th. We are still striving to hit
our goal of $15,000 by next month! Thank you to all of our donors
and team members, you guys rock!
