Chichester Town Library News

Happy Independence Day!

Friday July 6th at 7 p.m. at the Grange/Town Hall, Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki will be bringing his fiddle and presenting “Songs of Emigration: Storytelling through Traditional Celtic Music.”  Jordan is known throughout New England and has toured both nationally and in Ireland.  His interest in history brings a vibrancy and relevancy to the traditional music he plays.  There is no cost and refreshments will be available.

The July book sale is on Saturday, July 7th from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.  It will feature both patriotic-themed books and summer reads.  Although we have the lowest prices of anyone around, there will be specially priced books, especially among the patriotic and historical books that are displayed, available.

The Memory Café for residents with memory challenges is scheduled for Monday, July 9th at 2 p.m. at the Epsom Library.  This will be preceded by a picnic at noon at Webster Park in Epsom.  All reports have been positive about this specially focused group.

The library Board of Trustees will be meeting on Monday, July 9th, at 4 p.m.  This is an open meeting to residents of Chichester and those having any suggestions or concerns.

Thank You

To each and every one of you - no words can express how much it has meant to us that you reached out to show your compassion and love to Paige’s family during this most difficult time.

To all of the students, the past, present and the up-and-coming - thank you for your support, thank you for the hugs and cards. Thank you for preparing the park so beautifully in honor of Paige on a hot Friday night; your genuine kindness was felt, seen and so appreciated by all who loved her.

To the teachers – to those who taught and helped to form Paige into a beautiful, bright and caring young woman – we appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers that were sent her way.

To the parents of these caring, wonderful children, you are raising such remarkable young men and women. We thank you for the home cooked meals and for your thoughts and prayers.

And most of all I would like to thank this entire community for its love and support – we truly have no words to express our appreciation for each of you. Please know how blessed and grateful we are to be a part of such a wonderful community. The stories and memories you have of Paige will continue to keep her alive in all of our hearts.

Rams Run 4 Recess

This spring, the Chichester Central School held their first “Rams Run 4 Recess” event on May, 7th. Students raised funds and collected donations for their participation and all proceeds went to help upgrade our schools much needed playground. Students in K-2 ran a mile in the event and students in grades 3-8 ran two miles. Everyone enjoyed the running and the cheering on of their classmates and friends. In all, the students raised over $5,200 towards improvements towards our playground. Thank you to the Chichester parents and community for your generosity and support of CCS students and this event! Contributions to the fund can still be made by contacting the school at #798-5651.

We would like to extend special thanks to the following organizations for their help and contributions to the event: Chichester Central Schools Wellness Committee, Chichester Central School’s PTO, Frekey’s Dairy Freeze, Millican Nurseries, Pleasant View Gardens, Skip Plummer & Shumway Construction, The Despres Family, Weathervane Restaurant, Rapid Refill, Charmaine Hunter & Trilogy Hair Studio, Chichester Massage, Bendyfish Yoga, Chucksters, Epsom House of Pizza, Circle Restaurant, Subway of Epsom, Target, Walmart, Shaws, Sam’s Club, Market Basket and Hannafords.
