Dan Schroth will be back on Saturday, August 12, to finish the back wall at the Greenspace near the Grange/Town Hall parking lot on Main Street. Help is needed, and Dan likes to start early (think 6 a.m.). Call Lucille Noel at 798-5783 for information.

Cookies are needed for the noon meal at Chichester’s Old Home Day on August 19. If you are able to bake some, please call Tami Jameson at 7317951.

Chichester Grange will meet on Wednesday, August 16, at 7 p.m. at the Grange Hall.

Chichester Town Library News

The Evening Book Club meets tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss All the Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr, at 7 p.m.  The book for next month will also be disclosed.

There are a few more weeks for the Summer Reading Program (SRP).  Booklets can be turned in anytime for a prize, up until August 26th.  The next SRP activity is a sweet one: the Teen Advisory Group will be helping participants of the SRP prepare sweet rolls for Chichester’s emergency responders on Saturday, August 12th, at the Safety Complex.  Don’t forget to sign up!

Chichester has some avid students in basket weaving.  The next basket class will be held on Monday, August 21st at 6:00 p.m.  This time, folks will make a basket from a purchased kit, making it easier if they would want to buy their own kits in the future.  The price of the kit is $10.  People should arrive with a pencil, a kitchen shears or pruner, a tape measure or yard stick, clip clothespins, an awl or flat-head screwdriver.  These items will also be on hand to borrow, if needed.

As the library has done in the past, we will be supporting a local Farmer’s Market in conjunction with this month’s Down Under Used Book Sale, on Saturday, August 26th.The Farmer’s Market will be open from 9-noon.  Local vendors of vegetables, eggs, herbs, flowers and other products are encouraged to participate.  Please call the library to make arrangements.  This is a wonderful way to share the bounty of your garden and home with those who haven’t the time to tend plants or make specialty items.
