Chichester Town Library News

The Knitting Group will be meeting this afternoon at 3:30 p.m., as it does every Wednesday afternoon.

Story & Craft Hour for preschoolers and kindergarteners is tomorrow, June 9th, at 10:30 a.m.

June’s Down Cellar Used Book Sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 11th, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Board of Trustees will be meeting on Monday, June 13th at 4 p.m.

The adult and teen Craft Group is meeting on Monday, June 13th at 6:30 p.m. and will be working on a beading project.  Although this particular session is already filled to capacity, crafters may want to ensure they “join” this group to be able to take advantage of all that they do.

A few of the newly purchased, non-fiction books include:  The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business, by Charles Duhigg; The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness, by Sy Montgomery; and The Index Card: Why Personal Finance Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated, by Helaine Olen and Harold Pollack.  From management, to psychology, to finance, these books all have great reviews and should capture the interest of many readers.

At Chichester Town Hall on June 2 Chichester resident Doug Hall (right) filed as a Democratic candidate for the NH House of Representatives. Joining him were incumbent Democratic Representatives Dave Doherty and Dianne Schuett of Pembroke. Doug was elected from the district and was a State Representative for four terms, 1986-1993. He was a Republican at that time but switched his party affiliation a few years ago. District 20 of Merrimack County consists of the towns of Chichester and Pembroke and elects three members of the 400 member House of Representatives. The Party Primary Election is September 13 and the General Election is November 8.
