Town Library News
Don’t forget to come into the Library to
enjoy “A Celebration of the Seasons,” Martha Sargent Butterfield’s
collection of beautiful landscape paintings in oils and pastels
currently on display.
Preschool/Kindergarten Story & Craft Hour is scheduled for tomorrow
at 10:30 a.m. Includes stories, music, crafts and snack.
The Book Club will be meeting tomorrow at
noon.
The Library will be under construction, soon, and will be impacting
some of the activities at the Library. Your patience during
the next couple of months is appreciated.
On Saturday, May 7th at 7 p.m., Dave Downs will be presenting his
program on clutter control at the Grange. This entertaining
presentation is free and open to the public. We are hoping
that Mr. Downs’s magician background helps us all to make our
unneeded/unwanted “stuff” disappear. And, of course, any books
that may be weeded out during this uncluttering can be donated to
the Library!
The Board of Trustees will be meeting at 4
p.m. on Monday, May 9th, at the Library.
The Adult and Teen Craft Group will meet
on Monday, May 9th at 6:30 p.m.
The Authors’ Night, scheduled for Wednesday, May 18th, will be held
at the Grange because of the construction work being done. The
four local authors who have been invited are Kati Preston, Dudley
Laufman, Stephen Pascucci and Gail Laker-Phelps. They have
been asked to speak with attendees about their books, as well as
about the writing and publishing processes they used.
Also, the Plant and Used Book Sale will be held on May 21st.
Parking will be at a premium because of the construction going on.
TDS® Announces
Hacker Alert For Mobile Devices
The new internet
security tool protects Android mobile devices and via a new app.
Worldwide, 23 million mobile devices are
infected with malicious software known as malware. A form of hostile
software, malware is used to disrupt computer operations, gather
critical user data, and display unwanted advertising. To help combat
this ever-growing threat, TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®)
announces the launch of Hacker Alert for Android devices.
Hacker Alert lives on TDS’ network and
continuously analyzes customer’s mobile device web traffic for
security threats. If Hacker Alert finds something, customers will
receive an alert on their mobile device along with suggested steps
for removal.
Casey Thompson, a Product Development
Manager with TDS Telecom says, “Protecting your home network and
critical data is no longer about just guarding your PC. Now,
criminals can gain access to all your devices, using malware they
place on your cell phone. You need multiple layers of security,
which Hacker Alert provides.”
Until now, Hacker Alert was only available
to protect the home networks of TDS customers. Now, current and
future customers can add Hacker Alert and add the new security tool
to their Android device for free by visiting Google’s Play Store.
TDS customers can search “Hacker Alert” and click install.
