The Chichester Boston Post Cane Committee is seeking assistance from the public to determine who may be our oldest resident.  Anyone having an idea who might be eligible, please call 798-5825 or email [email protected] within two weeks of this notice.

A thousand thanks to everyone who donated Socks for Seniors. Among the three drop-off locations there were 125 pairs, enough to gift every resident of Epsom Manor with colorful socks for Christmas. The count included two dozen pairs of socks of a more utilitarian sort, which were donated to the veterans at Liberty House in Manchester. Chichester Grange will put the boxes out again next year, so stock up on warm colorful socks if you see any good buys between now and October, 2016

Chichester Grange will meet on Wednesday, January 6, upstairs in the Grange Hall. There will be a Soup Supper at 6 p.m. with the meeting to follow at 7.

Chichester Town Library News

The Library wishes everyone a wonderful, healthy and safe New Year!  We will be closed Friday and Saturday for the holiday.  Regular hours will be observed on New Year’s Eve Day.

Here’s a suggestion for a New Year’s resolution--come to the Chichester Library!  It’s the source for books and programs for residents and beyond.  If you don’t see what you want, please talk with the library staff.  It may be available through inter-library loan, through downloading or, even through possible purchase.  You may see a group that you would like to join or you might suggest a group to form.  The library is a welcoming place for all and tries to serve the needs of the community.

January 7th will be the start-up of the new year for the Pre-school Story and Craft Hour.  It starts at 10:30 in the morning.

The classic movie showing on January 8th is “My Fair Lady.”  Join others at 2 p.m. to enjoy some of the great movies that have survived the test of time.  Bring your own chair pillow(s) and treats, if desired.

Don’t forget to register for the fly-tying program offered through the Arts and Crafts Group on January 11th.   This skill produces beautiful results which can be used for so many things, limited only by the imagination.  Fishing and jewelry are two of the most obvious, but what about for a cat toy?  Registration is necessary and there is a small fee for materials.  Please contact Lisa at [email protected] or 798-5613 to register and for more information.
