Many thanks to the
Chichester Firemen’s Association and the Fire Department for
decorating and lighting the Christmas Tree at Carpenter Park. If you
have a chance to drive by during the Christmas season, please check
it out. It is beautiful.
The last day for the “Socks for Seniors”
collection is December 17. There are boxes at the Chichester
Library, the Out of Your Attic Thrift Shop, and the Pittsfield
Library in which you may place one or more pairs of socks in adult
sizes, the more colorful the better. The socks will be given to
residents of nursing homes at Christmas time. This is a national
project being done locally by Chichester Grange.
Chicken cacciatore is on the menu for the Chichester Methodist
Church Community Supper on December 23rd at the Parish Hall at 6:00.
The suppers are free but donations are appreciated and used towards
future suppers.
Happy Birthday to Richard Millette and
Jordan Davison on December 24.

Town Library News
Pre-school Story and Craft Hour is
scheduled for tomorrow, December 17th, at 10:30 a.m.
Friday’s movie classic is. “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Can you
really go through the holiday season without seeing it? Show
time is 2 p.m. at the Library. Classic movies will then break
for the holidays and resume on January 8th, when “My Fair Lady” will
be shown.
During this gift-giving season, the Library is offering some
wonderful books for purchase, including eighteen, leather-bound,
collectible classics (The 100 Greatest Books Ever Written) in
excellent condition from the Easton Press at only $15.00 apiece.
A check on-line showed this price to be basically unbeatable!
Also for sale are paperbacks for $.25, hardcover books for $.50 and
up. The whole “Down Under Used Book Section” is a gift
wonderland for readers and their gift-givers. Many children’s
winter class tales are available right at the entry to the Library,
again at only $.25. Gift certificates are also available.
Imagine the delight of the recipients to be able to get so many
books for the cost of the certificate.
Even though the used book sales are on hiatus, the Library is still
collecting used books. Think of us as you clean for the
holidays or if you need an end-of-year tax deduction. Patrons
are also invited to visit the “Down Under Used Book Section”
whenever the Library is open.
The Lovers of the Chichester Library are
scheduled to meet on Monday, December 21st at 7 p.m.
