Also, the summer raffles of two bicycles, each worth over $200.00 is
ongoing. One designed for women and the other for men, these bikes
are great for riding on either streets or bike paths.

New members are welcome.
The new LEGO Movie, the first ever, full-length theatrical Lego
adventure, will be shown at 6:30 on June 21st, at 6:30 at the
Library.
Oftentimes, the summer complaint of young people is,
“But there’s nothing to do!” To try to address that complaint, the
Library is exploring starting a Teen Advisory Board to help plan
activities and events for teens in Chichester. Interested young
people are asked to call the Library at 798-5613, e-mail at
[email protected] or drop in at 161
Main Street to express that interest to Lisa or Kayla.
Please see the separate article on the exciting Summer Reading
Program, “Fizz, Boom, Read!” for ages 3-13 year olds.
Fizz, Boom, Read!
Chichester Library’s Summer Reading Program
It’s going to be an exciting summer for those aged 3-13 years old
who participate in Chichester Library’s science-based reading
program, “Fizz, Boom, Read!” The theme is shared by many libraries,
but each program is designed by the local library for their
community. Librarian Lisa Prizio and Library Aide Kayla Chagnon
have done an outstanding job in planning this summer’s program for
Chichester.
Sign-up is scheduled for June 21st . Yes, there will be plenty of
books to read. Yes, there will be raffle tickets for each book
read; and the prizes will include a choice of games, books and other
fun things. Yes, new and exciting objectives are being included.
For example, if a participant fulfills the requirements set by the
Librarian and staff, they will receive a coupon for a free round of
miniature golf at Chuckster’s in Chichester.
There are also plenty of activities planned which coincide with
“Fizz, Boom, Read!” On Saturday, June 28th, there will be a
soldering workshop for the first ten participants to sign up. This
safe activity is being presented by Brad Towle, who has already led
a very successful workshop. Monday, June 30th at 6:30 p.m. at the
Library, there will be a “Science Extravaganza” presentation by
Science and Nature Explorations/Science Nature Boot Camp of
Chichester.
A Lego Car Derby is planned for July 7th at the Grange Hall, but
sign-up is limited to 18 participants. July also brings the
family-oriented “Science and Magic” program by Scott Jameson, to be
held at the Grange, on Wednesday the 23rd at 6:30 p.m. And in
August, the fun continues with “Lego Fun” on Friday, the 8th. The
closing program is on Monday, August 18th when “Fun with Fibonacci,”
as well as the drawings and treats are planned. So, there’s plenty
of fun to be had by those participating in the Library’s Summer
Reading Program. Join us!
