Happy Birthday to Eric Harris on August 8.
Once again this year, on Friday night, August 17, we will have
Scavenger Hunt as part of the Old Home Day events. Teams will leave
Carpenter Park in their own vehicles and travel around Chichester.
Based on a list of clues provided, they will visit supporting
businesses, town landmarks and buildings and collect items or
information about each location. They might be asked to collect a
business card or brochure. They may have to provide the colors of a
sign or hours of business. They may need to describe a particular
part of a building or landmark. Teams will receive points for each
correct item or answer. Those teams with the highest point totals
will be awarded prizes.
This event is fun for a family or a group of three or four friends.
The event will take place between 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Please be prompt.
Thank you to those who are participating in giving their garden
produce to the Chichester Food Pantry. Thanks also to Pat who is
bringing bread on Monday mornings. We appreciate her time.
The Old Home Day Parade will take place on Saturday, August 18. This
year’s theme is “Under the Big Top.” The parade will form at
Chichester Central School at 9:30 am and step out for Carpenter Park
at 10:30 am. Please notify Carol Frekey-Harkness at 798-5443 if you
would like to march, enter a float, ride a horse or a bicycle, or
drive a vehicle of some sort in the parade.
Happy Anniversary to Keith and Aja Davison on August 12.
The Chichester Historical Society has recently printed a volume of
Chichester Articles written by Walter Sanborn since 2006. They have

Where is my creative craft person? We still have a bed pan
that is waiting for that person to buy it and decorate it for their
garden. Or is the one you bought last summer still in good shape?
The Baby Threads website has been updated! Check out
www.babythreadsofNH.com for the latest on
what is urgently needed, etc. We also want to send a Big Thank You
to a wonderful couple from Pittsfield who donated many items! We
wish you well.
Please remember not to leave donations outside when we are closed.
Some well-meaning person left a huge tub of assorted puzzles, games,
toys, clothing, etc. outside on a sunny Sunday. Well, it
rained and the tub was host to 8 inches of water. Not only did rain
ruin paper goods and stuffed animals, the tub was under the eaves
and caught plenty of water. Many items were ruined. We prefer
to have items in good condition to recycle to our patrons.
We are on Route 28 by the Pittsfield town line. We are open
Mon. 8-12, Tues. and Thurs. 8-4, Wed. 11-4 and Sat. 10-4. You
can call us at 247-7191.
