Chichester Grange News
Chichester Grange met on Wednesday, January 4th, upstairs in the
Grange Hall. The evening began with a Soup Supper at 6 p.m. The corn
chowder, beef stew, turkey vegetable, and chicken noodle soups
accompanied by crackers, rolls, and dessert were very welcome on a
cold night.
Following the supper, Anne Boisvert gave a presentation on what the
Grange is, what Chichester Grange does, and how to become a Granger.
Guests, newer members, and even the old timers learned a lot.
Special mention was given to scrapbooks made by Barbara Frangione
which provided a lot of the information for the presentation. Will
the supper and program lead to new members? We hope so.
A business meeting followed the program. Guests were especially
interested in the wildlife report which included turkeys, cardinals,
and free-range chickens skating across an icy deck in Loudon, and
several moose stories. During the holiday season plates of Christmas
cookies were delivered to fifty-year Grange members and some cards
were sent to those living too far away for cookie delivery. Plans
were begun for a series of Penny Sales to be held at the Grange Hall
to benefit the Heritage Commission’s project to retrofit the windows
in the Grange/Town Hall. It is hoped to begin the sales in February.
Chichester Grange meets only once a month in January. The next
meeting will be Wednesday, February 1st.
Congratulations to the Chichester Boys 7th and 8th Grade Basketball
