B.C.E.P. Public Hearing for the proposed budget will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at the B.C.E.P. facility at 7:00 pm.

Happy Birthday to Zachary Harris on December 14 and Richard Millette and Jordan Davison on December 24.

Chichester Grange is holding an apple pie fundraiser. For $10.00 you can have a homemade apple pie at your Christmas dinner or party without having any dirty rolling pins in your kitchen. Please send order requests and payment (checks made out to Chichester Grange #132) to Hannah West, 3 Depot Rd., Chichester, NH 03258 or Kevin Belval/Mary West, 86 Broadway, Concord, NH 03301. Pies will be ready for pick-up on Saturday, December 22 between 9 am and 12 noon in the Grange meeting room at the Grange/Town Hall.

If you have a chance, stop by Carpenter Park to admire the progress. The new areas have been seeded, and it really looks “finished.”  The committee has a wish list for things like benches, trees, an expanded pavilion, and more to make the park a better place in which to gather for family or larger events beyond sports activities. It may also be that in the spring more work will need to be done to the perimeter trail or the fields to erase the effects of winter. Unfortunately the bank account has run dry. If you should wish to make a donation toward future work at the park, please contact Frank Harrison at www.webharrison.net/carpenter-park or call 603-798-3105.

Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News

Submitted By Carol Hendee

This week, we said good-bye, good luck, God bless to a person who started the Attic Thrift Shop.  Bonnie Champagne started the store in December 2004.  With her guidance, Baby Threads, with the donations you provide to the Attic, has helped 63,665 people through 2010.  I did not have time to add 2011, but it’s usually 50, 75, or 100 people per year.  Health reasons have forced the move to ID.

Two people (not a surprise it will take two people to replace one Bonnie!) will be doing her job. We will be introducing them next week. All the good work will continue as it is now.

To say Thank You for your support this year, everything in the store will be 1/2 price for the week of December 17 - 22.  Maybe we can help you find a Christmas present for many people!

We will be closed December 24 and 25, and reopen December 26th.  We are closed New Year’s Eve, December 31 and New Year’s Day January 1; then back to our regular hours: Mon. 8-12; Tues. and Thurs. 8-4; Wed. 11-4 and Sat. 10-4. We’re on Route 28, five miles north of the Epsom Circle.  Our phone number is 247-7191.

Letter

To all of my Chichester mail customers:

I have recently retired (sort of a quick decision), but I wanted to acknowledge all of your kindness to me and your understanding when your mail was late due to heavy mail volumes. There have been so many families I have come to feel close to over the years because of their personal contact with me. I want to thank each and every one of my customers for their kind words and generosity during the holidays and all year long. Some of the best gifts came from family gardens, but all have been graciously appreciated.

I would also like to thank my Postmaster, Karla Brown, for all of her help and understanding, especially over the last two years. To my coworkers on the clerk side, my fellow carriers and substitute carriers who have always been supportive, a large and heartfelt Thanks! I made many great friends on the workroom floor over 17 years. To those of you who trained me to be a conscientious carrier, Frank Quimby and Patty Smart, a final Thanks. Customer service has changed a lot, but you two taught me how to take care of our precious customers. If it wasn’t for your training, I would not have been so diligent in my job.

Many thanks,

Judy Brackett
