Happy 25th Anniversary to Jaan and Stacey Luikmil on August 9th.

The Chichester Youth Association will be holding their monthly meeting on Sunday, August 14th at 6 p.m. in the selectman’s office.  With soccer season right around the corner, please take this opportunity to stop by a meeting and see what you can do to help make this a season to remember.

Happy Birthday to Eric Harris on August 8.

We would love to have the kids that have been involved with CYA this past year or plan to be involved this upcoming year, walk in the parade at Old Home Day on August 20th at 11 am. For more information, please Click Here.

The Old Home Day Committee is looking for student volunteers needing service time to help on Old Home Day with parking cars, removing trash, carrying items from here to there, and other such duties. Please contact Jaan Luikmil at 545-9087 if you can help out.

The 10th Annual Chichester Youth Association Golf Tournament will be held September 10, 2011, at Beaver Meadow Country Cub in Concord, NH. Please visit our website for more information at www.chichesteryouth.com.

The Chichester Fire Department has some exciting events planned for children on Saturday afternoon of Old Home Day, August 20.

The following program for the Chichester Town Library is one you will not want to miss.  Wednesday,  August 10th at 6:30 pm The Harrisons will bring us stories from India (where they lived for several years.) and Bernie and Martha Reinhardt will bring us stories from Germany.  This promises to be interesting and entertaining.

All are welcome to come and bring your questions.

The Chichester Heritage Commission will sponsor its 2nd Annual Woodpile Contest this year at Old Home Day, August 20. Take a picture of your woodpile (must be on your land). Give the picture to any member of the Heritage Commission or to Lucille Noel (798-5709) or bring it to the Heritage Commission booth at Old Home Day. Photos will be displayed and the winner will be by popular vote. The prize is a cord of wood.

Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop

Are you familiar with “Dora”, the little cartoon character that says “backpack, backpack, backpack?”  Well, that is Baby Threads motto for now through August.

We are collecting once again, backpacks to pass out to kids who need them for school.  We need: backpacks, notebooks, binders, pens, pencils, colored pencils, markers, highlighters, rulers, crayons, scissors, glue sticks, erasers and folders.  Packs of tissues are also helpful.  Bonnie and helpers will deliver the backpacks directly to the schools for nurses and guidance counselors to pass them out to those in need.

Soccer starts in August, and we still have some cleats in smaller sizes.  We also have a supply of men’s and women’s  shorts and bathing suits; if you need an extra to get through the summer, we probably have one for you!  There is also a supply of sandals for kids, to replace the ones they’ve  already lost this summer.

Come visit.  We have air conditioning!  Mon. 8-12, Tues. and Thurs. 8-4, Wed. 11-4, Fri. and Sat. 10-4. On Route 28, in the yellow plaza near the Pittsfield line.  Or call us at 247-7191.
