Congratulations to Brittany J. Welcome of Chichester, who received a
BA in Political Science during the University of Vermont’s 207th
Commencement ceremonies on May 22nd.
The Chichester
Conservation Commission is beginning work on a forest management
plan for the Spaulding Town Forest, Carpenter Park, and the Madeline
Sanborn Conservation Area. The goals of the plan will be
estimation of possible timber harvest, improvement of the parcels
for wildlife habitat and passive recreation, and coordination with
other Town land management goals. A meeting will be held
on June 9 at 7 pm at the Grange Hall to obtain citizen input on the
plan.
The Chichester Firefighters Association will be
sponsoring an all you can eat Spaghetti Dinner on Wednesday, June
15, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Chichester Fire Station for the benefit
of the Chichester Food Pantry. Minimum donation requested is $5.00
per person. The Chichester Firefighters Association will be
providing all the food and supplies needed for the event, so 100% of
any money raised will be distributed directly to the Chichester Food
Pantry. Hope to see you there!
Chichester Grange will
meet on Wednesday, June 16, at 7 p.m. upstairs in the Grange Hall.

Out Of
Your Attic Thrift Shop News Submitted By Carol Hendee
There
are some new items in our shop, courtesy of our Laconia store.
There are bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, and some prom gowns.
There is a small selection of leather jackets. There are also
some small pieces of furniture; such as a wooden cabinet, bookcase
headboards, and a round table that needs refinishing. These
are not priced in our usual $.25 to $3.00 range, but just a little
more as the item warrants. Feel free to ask at the desk and we
can take you to the item if it’s in the back or direct you to the
gowns in the store.
Also, we could use volunteers to drop
off Yellow Bags to Planet Aid Yellow boxes, either at the local
recycling center or any planet aid box in your area.
So far, all we can find is one mug for Father’s Day but there are
other items Dad might like; a cool t-shirt, a photo album you fill
with his favorite photos, or get creative and make him a basket of
goodies (we have the baskets, you make the goodies).
Come see us
Tues. and Thurs. 8-4, Wed. 11-4, Fri. and Sat. 10-4 in the Blueberry
Plaza, next to Parker’s Roast Beef!
Chichester Grange
Chichester Grange met on Wednesday, June 1,
with Master Anne Boisvert presiding. Alice Hilliard reported on a
brief but successful Memorial Day celebration with over forty people
in attendance. It was suggested that another year the time could be
set a bit later in the hopes of having more shade.
Thank-you
notes were received from third grade students in Northwood,
expressing appreciation for the dictionaries recently given to them
by Chichester Grange and the NH Dictionary Project. Wildlife
sightings included woodchucks, chipmunks, and squirrels; wild
turkeys, geese, and ducks with little ones; female cardinals; and a
downy woodpecker.
Tentative plans were made for the annual
Eat-Out in July. Secretary Mary West will contact Makris Restaurant
and report back at the June 16th meeting.
The program was “Talent
Night” presented by Kevin Belval and Mary West. Kevin demonstrated
elementary juggling and Mary performed a vocal solo. Hannah West
read “The Cremation of Sam Magee.” Mary and Kevin presented a vocal
medley, and everyone did the “Hokey Pokey’ to stretch their arms and
legs.
The next meeting will be June 16th when members will review
their floorwork skills. New members are always welcome.
