Out Of Your Attic Thrift Shop News
Submitted By Carol Hendee

We need your help.  Our volunteer refrigerator stopped volunteering!  We used it to keep water, yogurt, and lunches cold for the ladies.  If anyone can donate a dorm sized refrigerator, we certainly would appreciate it.  We just do not have money in the budget to replace it.

Here is a feel good event; a lady and her small child had been out all morning on a Saturday going to yard sales, looking for a bike.  We picked up, from a free pile, a Disney Princess bike and marked it $5.  They found the bike at our store and the price was right.  It was all the lady had to spend! There was much joy in that purchase!

Good News!  Starting Monday June 20th, Ruthie will be at the desk 8-12, along with Wendy and Kerrie.  This means we will be open 6 days a week!  Mon. 8-12, Tues. and Thurs. 8-4, Wed. 11-4, Fri. and Sat. 10-4.  Make a note and save these hours.  These hours give you time to drop off donations and shop at our bargain prices.  Stop in at 345 Suncook Valley Hwy, Chichester, or call 247-7191.

Chichester Central Graduation

Led by seventh graders Abby McIntosh and Kaylie Smith with batons and Kyle Menard and Nick Eastman with flags, seventeen members of Chichester Central’s Class of 2011 marched to the stage of the Multi-Purpose Room. Lyla Boyajian gave a welcome address. Then Jesse LaPlante, Cory Leduc, Ryan McGowan, and Mrs. Stiles played a Beatles song.

Raymond Jenks delivered the Commencement Address beginning with a moment of silence for four adults of importance to the school and moving on to high points of his class’s journey through Chichester Central. A class computer video of the Roaring 20s had the flickering feel of moving pictures from that era. The traditional video presentation of pictures of each graduating student was shown to great applause from the class members and the audience at large.

Mrs. Stiles and others presented awards. The Kempton Ricker Award went to Fiona Mara. The Commander of Post 110 in Epsom presented American Legion Awards to Raymond Jenks and Sarah Hubbard. The Sue Williams Scholarship Award, new this year from the PTO, went to Raymond Jenks and Emma Donzello-Jewett. The Michael Booth Award was given to Ryan McGowan. The A. Allan Clark-Freda Jones Award to an Outstanding Adult Volunteer went to Tammy Jameson. John Sanborn and Ashley Chapman received the Irene Ricker Awards. PTO President Carol Frekey-Harkness presented PTO Awards to Lyla Boyajian and Emma Donzello-Jewett. Gabriana Walter received the Chris Thomas Award for scholarship, athletic skill, and good sportsmanship. Mrs. Bea Pszonowsky presented the Mike Pszonowsky Award to Jesse LaPlante.

Mrs. Stiles announced the eight students whose scores in the Scholastic Challenge were above the National Average: Lyla Boyajian, Sarah Hubbard, Raymond Jenks, Emma Donzello-Jewett, Fiona Mara, Brendan Murray, Grace Sargent, and Kasey Williams. Lyla Boyajian received a medal for having the highest score in the school and a trophy for having the highest score in the State of New Hampshire.

John Poirier, School Board Chairman, presented diplomas to Lyla Boyajian, Ashley Chapman, Emma Donzello-Jewett, Codey Gravel, Sarah Hubbard, Raymond Jenks, Jesse LaPlante, Cory Leduc, Fiona Mara, Cody McCullock, Ryan McGowan, Brendan Murray, John Sanborn, Grace Sargent, Gabriana Walter, Victoria White, and Kasey Williams.

Accompanied by classmate Sarah Hubbard the new graduates sang “Farewell to Chichester” before leaving the stage. Following the graduation ceremony all enjoyed refreshments provided by parents of the seventh grade class.
