The Barnstead Historical Society will be meeting at the Barnstead Town Hall, Thursday, April 26th at 7PM for our first meeting of the year. We ask that you bring something for “Show and Tell.” There will be no supper before the meeting but light refreshments to follow.

 

All are welcome—Come and keep history alive in Barnstead!

Police Appreciation Sunday - Breakfast and Church Service

 

Sunday, April 29th, the Center Barnstead Christian Church is very pleased to hold our Police Appreciation Sunday.  Community Breakfast will be served from 8:30am to 9:30am and EVERYONE is invited.  You’ll be pleased to hear that after our spectacular Easter Breakfast, we have been busily fine-tuning our delicious breakfast menu. 

 

Once you have eaten your fill, our church service starts at 10am.  Nursery and children’s programs are always available.  We are delighted to have a very special guest speaker for the day, Dr. Wendell Calder, from Local Church Evangelism based in Newport, Maine.  His personal style and message content will resonate with you for a long time.

Oscar Foss Memorial Library News

 

Game Night!

Like to play Minecraft, Mario Kart or Zelda? Come to the library on Friday, April 27th at 6:30pm for Game Night! You can play with our WiiU on our large screen, use a tablet to play Minecraft, or bring your own laptop or tablet to play along. Light refreshments will be served.

 

Celebrate Screen-Free Week! 

From April 30-May 6, 2018, children, families, entire schools, and communities will rediscover the joys of life beyond the screen. Plan to unplug from digital entertainment and spend all that free time playing, reading, daydreaming, creating, exploring, and connecting with family and friends. Visit us at the library and explore all our new releases and other exciting reading options! 

 

Teen Writer’s Group

The Teen Writer’s Group will be meeting on Thursday, May 3rd at 6:30pm. This group meets at the library on the first Thursday of each month. Teens 12-18 years are welcome to attend for sharing, discussing and improving their writing.

Library hours are; Tuesday and Wednesday: 10am-6pm, Thursday and Friday: 12pm-8pm, Saturday: 10am-1pm, Sunday and Monday: closed.

 


 

Barnstead Farmers Market Seeking Vendors!

 

The Barnstead Farmers Market has two Full Season spaces left for its 2018 season and right now, we are seeking Guest Vendors! Our Grand Opening is June 9th and goes until Columbus Day Weekend. We are open Saturdays 9:00am to 12:00n and are located at 96 Maple St, on the corner of Rte. 28. 

 

We are looking for an early season veggie farm, craft beer, winery or any unique products. We would love to hear from you!
