The
Congregational Church of North Barnstead (CCNB) cordially invites
the public to attend a candlelight Taize’ Ash Wednesday Worship
Service, February 14 at 7:00 p.m.
This
peaceful candlelight service lasts 45 minutes. CCNB, a “year round”
church built in 1820, is at 504 North Barnstead Road. Please come
and join in as they begin the season of Lent. All are welcome!

Middle
School Graphic Novel Club
The
Middle School Graphic Novels Club meets on the third Wednesday of
each month at 3:45pm. Join Maddison in discussing and discovering
interesting graphic novels. This group is geared towards ages 9-13.

Teen
Advisory Group
The
OFML Teen Advisory Group is a group of teens ages 12-18 who assist
the library with a number of things such as Program Development,
Teen Tech Advisor, and YA Collection Development. You can also help
out by shelving and covering books, setting up for programs or
assisting with preparations for some of our children’s programs.
Participation looks great on college applications, and everything
qualifies for community service hours! Meetings are held the fourth
Thursday of the month at 7pm. Next meeting date is February 22nd.

Game
Night!
Like to
play Minecraft, Mario Kart or Zelda? Come to the library on Friday,
February 23rd at 6:30pm for Game Night! You can play with our WiiU
on our large screen, use a tablet to play Minecraft, or bring your
own laptop or tablet to play along. Light refreshments will be
served.
Coffee
Talk!
Parents, do you need a little adult time with other people “your
age”? Come to the Oscar Foss Memorial Library on the fourth Saturday
of the month at 10:30am for coffee and conversation. Children ages 2
and up can be dropped off in the Children’s area for story time and
crafts while you get to know other parents in our community! Arrange
playdates, start a book group, plan a car pool, or just have an hour
of peace and quiet. Next meeting date will be Saturday, February
24th.

CBCC To
Host Chili, Soup, And Chowder Cook-Off
The
Center Barnstead Christian Church is hosting this extravaganza on
Saturday, February 24th at 5 pm. If you would like to enter your
best chili, soup or chowder, please register on our CBCC website no
later than Monday, February 19th

There is no entry fee. Donations will be accepted at the door but
are not required. All donations will be going towards a
mission’s trip to Hungary to renovate cabins for their youth camp.
This cook-off will be fun and yummy for the whole family! On
the day of the event we are asking those that are bringing a
crockpot of award-winning soup to drop it off at the church between
4:15-4:30pm. Make sure it is all warmed up and ready to be judged.
Then at 5:00pm the eating and judging will begin. Save the
date and see you there!
Obituaries
Ronald Williams
CENTER BARNSTEAD- Mr. Ronald Williams, 62, of Center
Barnstead, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a
lengthy illness on February 6, 2018 in the care of the Colonial Hill
Center and Cornerstone VNA in Rochester.
Born in
Boston, Ron was the son of the late Willard and Caroline
(Struzziero) Williams. He was educated in Nashua and was a
graduate of Howe High School.
Ron was
the proud owner and operator of Venture Transportation for over 20
years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed snowmobiling as well as
fishing and hunting with his grandsons. He also loved his
motorcycle and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was
always willing to help in any way he could.
He was
predeceased by his brother and sister, Jeanne and Roger.
He is
survived by his wife of 10 years, Karen (French) Keller-Williams.
He was the father to Stephen Williams and his wife Nancy of Gardner,
NC, Rhonda Gagnon and her husband Sam of Center Barnstead and the
stepfather to Elizabeth Sixx and her significant other James of
Pittsfield. He was the brother to Laraine, Jack, Al, Teddy,
Kirk and Ralph. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1
great grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews.
A
Funeral Service was held in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home
on Saturday, February 10th. Spring burial will take place in
Riverview Cemetery in Barnstead. In lieu of flowers, donations
in Ron’s memory may be sent to the Cornerstone VNA, 178 Farmington
