Prayers Of Cuban
Women On March 4th
The Women’s Fellowship of North Barnstead invites you to participate in
the World Day of Prayer on Friday evening, March 4th at 7 pm.
Together we will learn about Cuba and share in the prayers of Cuban
women for their children. In more than 170 countries and regions
people will celebrate World Day of Prayer. Each year women of a
different country share their stories and prayers. This year, the
women of Cuba call us into worship considering the words “Receive
children, receive me.”
Ruth and Dick Stewart of Sandwich NH have visited Cuba and will share
pictures and stories of Cuba’s people and countryside. Their
presentation will be followed with a worship service written by Cuban
women. We will gather at 7 pm at the Congregational Church
of North Barnstead (504 N. Barnstead Rd.) and will close with
refreshments at 8 pm.
World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical
movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together to
observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday in March.
World Day of Prayer was founded on the idea that prayer and action are
inseparable in the service of God’s realm. Services begin at sunrise in
the Pacific and follow the sun across the globe on the day of
celebration.
