A Wide And Extravagant Welcome For All

Barnstead Church handi sign.jpg

The Congregational Church of North Barnstead, UCC (CCNB) is on a journey to create an “A2A” (Accessible to All) church.  This journey began with building an outside ramp for wheelchairs or others with walking difficulties and adding a side doorway/exit. In addition, there is now a raised paved entrance that leads to both the Pratt schoolhouse used by the children and for small group meetings as well as to the ramp to the Church.  This area also serves as a handicapped parking area for two cars.

Other changes the church is celebrating include:

• An accessible bathroom with hand rails

• Lowering the chancel area from three levels to one to provide total access to the pulpit area

• Accessible spaces for wheelchairs within the sanctuary to allow anyone and everyone to have a sense of being part of the church community

• Large print bulletins and a large print hymnal available at the front door weekly

• Easy to use hearing enhancements using personal FM devices to allow people with hearing loss and/or hearing aids to hear more clearly the joyful and heartfelt words and music each week.

Additional and ongoing work will ensure that no matter who you are, you will find a place at CCNB.

The lovely little 1820s church on the hill has moved into the 20th century. CCNB believes everyone is a beloved child of God and everyone deserves to participate fully in the life of the church. Won’t you join us on our journey? Sunday service, including Sunday School for children and youth, is at 10 am each week.
