Successful Living
You’ve heard a lot of opinions about how to live the successful
Christian life. Now hear what Jesus said. In "What Jesus Said about
Successful Living," Haddon Robinson uses the Sermon on the Mount as a
springboard to show why the life-changing principles Jesus taught are
the way to true happiness.
These principles are not ideals. Ideals frustrate us because they demand
perfection. Christ didn’t set up impossible ideals; He established
goals. Goals we can work toward and reach now.
The adult Sunday School class at the Center Barnstead Christian Church
will begin this study in a couple of weeks. Everyone is welcomed to join
us. The study will begin every Sunday at 9:00 am. We also offer classes
for children where they have fun learning basic Bible truths from God’s
Word. The Morning Worship service follows at 10:00 am.
The Center Barnstead Christian Church is located on Route 126, next to
the Town Hall. For more information, please contact the church at
269-8831.

Letter
My Angel, Avery, Happy 9th Birthday
Avery, we miss you so much all the time. I still haven’t moved anything
of yours in the house. I know you’re in heaven and since you’ve been
gone my sister, Starr, died on January 28th.
On your birthday, March 16th, we will go to the place where you died and
give you balloons and flowers. We’ll remember the love you gave us in
the very short time you were here. You touched everyone who spent any
time with you.
Your class still wanted your desk where you left it. I guess it’s like
what I’ve been doing. Your sneakers are still at the foot of the bed.
Your coats are still hanging on the coat rack. Your toys, books and even
your toothbrush are just as you left them.
It would be nice if everyone who knew you could take a moment to
remember you. Please hug the children you love and be thankful every day
for them.
Happy Birthday!
Love,
Pearl Michaud (Grammy)
Martin (Daddy)
Lego Construction Party At Barnstead Library!
The Oscar Foss Memorial Library is hosting a "Lego Construction Party"
on Saturday, March 31st at 10 am. We invite Barnstead children of all
ages to come participate in the building fun! Various types of blocks
will be provided for the children to use (Legos, Duplos, Mega Blocks) so
we can display all of the children’s wonderful creations at the library.
Some light snacks and drinks will be provided by the library for this
event. Our space is limited, so please call us at 269-3900 or stop by
the library to sign up.
We are still in need of Legos and the other types of blocks for this
event. Please contact us at 269-3900 if you have any blocks you are
willing to donate to the library. As always, we thank you for your
generosity and support.
Letter To The Editor
Dear Barnstead voters:
Diane Beijer has served on the Barnstead School Board for the past seven
and a half years.
I have found her to be a very fair, intelligent, hard working and caring
person; her focus at all times being the welfare of our children.
Her goal has always been to get a quality education for our children,
and she has worked tirelessly on achieving consensus and uniting the
Board in our efforts to this end.
It takes a long time to learn all that involves being an effective
School Board member, especially to be able to work with people with
differing opinions and respecting opposing points of view. She has done
this with grace and charm, never offending any member of the Board or
public.
I have enjoyed working with Diane on the Board and respectfully urge you
to vote for this valuable, hard working, experienced member.
Respectfully,
Kathy Preston
Barnstead School Board Member
Barnstead OHD Canceled
It is with a heavy heart that the Barnstead Old Home Day Committee must
cancel the event for 2012. During last month’s Committee meeting it was
decided to try to recruit some new members to take the lead in planning
some of the events. Unfortunately, no new people have volunteered to
take the lead.
Eight people were at the last meeting. Three times that many volunteers
are needed to plan for all of the activities. Rather than putting
together a sub-standard program, we feel it is best to cancel for this
year.
Look for notices next year for dates and times when the Committee will,
once again, reconvene.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Peggy Sweeney at
435-6505.
