Relay For Life Lake Winnipesaukee

Relay for Life is just around the corner! On June 25th the annual Relay for Life will take place at The Nick recreation in Wolfeboro, N.H. The theme this year is “Beach Party!”
The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers who would like to honor cancer survivors, caregivers, and pay tribute to those who have lost their battle with cancer, and support the ongoing research to cure cancer.  If you are looking for a reason for your family and friends to get together, here it is, and you will be making a difference in your life as well as millions of others.

Relay for Life is an overnight community that is touching to everyone who participates. Team members will take turns walking around the track in relay style.

Relay for Life represents HOPE that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.  During the months before the relay Luminaria Bags are sold to be written on in honor of those surviving, battling, and who have lost their battle to cancer.  They can be purchased from team members and committee members or at relay.  The Luminaria Bags are lit at night during a touching ceremony that will honor those who are fighting cancer and remembering those who have lost their battle.

If you would like to form a team and learn about fundraising for your team you may do so online at www.relayforlife.org/lakewinnipesaukeenh. If you would like to become a volunteer for the relay, or want to get information about services offered by the American Cancer Society or have questions please contact Megan Credit at [email protected] or 603-581-4189 or Penny Franciosi, at [email protected] or 603-524-8384.

Men’s Breakfast

Center Barnstead Christian Church is hosting a free Men’s Breakfast next Saturday, March 26th  from 7:30-8:30 AM.  All men are invited to come and enjoy breakfast, as they watch the DVD, How Great Is Our God, by Louie Giglio.

Your life is a miracle, and the Creator of the universe knows you by name.  He cares about you, and we find hope in the midst of the darkest places in life.  The journey is often complicated and painful, filled with confusion and chaos.  Yet, the cross of Christ reveals God’s promise to preserve you and restore you no matter what the circumstance.  He will hold onto you and hold you together, giving strength to those who hope in His unfailing love.  He is the everlasting God!

The Center Barnstead Christian Church is located on Route 126, next to the Town Hall.  For more information contact the church at 269-8831.

Letter
To The Voters of Barnstead

Thank you for your confidence in my abilities to hold the position of Selectman. I will work hard with the other Selectmen to try to move the town forward in these tough economic times. If I can ever be of service to you - do not hesitate to contact me at the Town Hall, 269-4071.

Thank you Again

Letter

First, I thank the voters of Barnstead who supported my bid for school board. I appreciate and look forward to the opportunity to serve our children and community.

Second, I am writing to ask for voter support at the school district meeting on Saturday, March 19th at 9 A.M. Child care will be provided to aid families, given by student members of PMHS’s National Honor Society and assisted by two non-resident BES faculty members.

I would like to share some information about the 2/5 music position also at stake: (please see supportbesmusic.blogspot.com for more info.)

No 2/5 music teacher equals loss of grades 4-5 band/chorus (b/c), thus impacting preparation for and participation in grades 6-8 and PMHS b/c.

149 unique students in grades 4-8 band/chorus (b/c) or 29% of student body.

Grades 4-8 b/c equals 11 total periods. Of these 11 periods, the average class size is 21 students per period, including small group instruction.

Grades 6-8 b/c have 81 unique students, or 45%.

Grades 4-5 b/c have 68% and 65% participation or a 20% growth rate over grades 6-8. This is without a 4th grade chorus, which Mr. Neveu is in the process of starting, due to demand.

Grades 4-5 band receive small group instruction. The 2/5 position salary is $20,039 or 0.003% of the BES budget and 0.001% of the total budget including PMHS.

Tax impact would be $0.04/$1,000 or about $6  for a tax-valued home of $150 K

This and the Enrichment warrant articles are both recommended by the budget committee for voter approval.

A vote to approve this warrant article will keep our band/chorus program growing and excelling, thus giving our children valuable opportunities to learn, grow, and expand their skills, talents, and possibilities.

Thank you,
Shawn White

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the citizens of Barnstead for the support you once again have shown me and for re-electing me to the Barnstead Planning Board. I like to believe that the residents of this great town agree with my positions as stated at the Candidate’s Night and in general discussions we have had throughout the past years. It is with your input, questions and concerns that we can take the Planning Board meetings that help us in our decisions as planning matter come before us. Your attendance at our meetings and input during the public session is also important to us and I certainly extend my personal invitation for more citizen involvement.

Once again, thank you for your support and I look forward to continued service to the citizens of Barnstead.

Clarke Goodrich
Barnstead Planning  Board Member
