Barnstead 2012 Old
Home Day
Greetings everyone. Five people
(that’s right, only 5) showed up for the October Old Home Day Committee
meeting. We are having another one on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the
Town Hall at 6:30 pm. We hope new members will be able to join us. Peggy
Sweeney has stepped down from being the Chairperson and Tim Eade has
stepped up to be a Co-Chair. We do need more volunteers though. So, if
you want to see an Old Home Day 2012, come on down to the Town Hall.
Some interesting ideas are being
kicked around for the theme. If you want some input into this town-wide
celebration, come to the meeting. If you can not make this meeting, but
are interested in joining the committee, please contact Tim Eade at
269-2252 or Peggy Sweeney at 435-6505.
Halloween Parade At
Barnstead Library
The children had a wonderful time
during our Story Hour Halloween Parade at the Oscar Foss Memorial
Library on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. They looked great in their fun
and fabulous costumes as they ‘Trick-or-Treated’ through the library.
Many special treats and surprises were set out around the library for
the children to find and put into their bags. Barnstead Police Chief
Borgia came to visit and told us all about Halloween safety. A
‘spook-tacular’ time was had by all!
Story hour is held every Wednesday
morning at 10:00 am while school is in session. Please join us for
fantastic stories and fun crafts. For more information please call us at
269-3900 or ask us at the front desk.
Barnstead Library Continues With Art
Display
The Barnstead Library is pleased to
announce that we are once again displaying art shows at the Library.
This program has been organized by Janice Metzger, an amazing artist in
Barnstead who wanted to help other artists have their items on display.
For the month of November, we are
pleased to welcome the work of Judy King from Bow. Judy had no formal
art lessons for many years but had a hidden desire to paint! At the age
of 60, she could no longer ignore the idea that she could and should be
painting, so she took watercolor lessons at the Kimball-Jenkins School
of Art. Her beautiful watercolors are now on display at the Barnstead
Library, so please stop during library hours and admire these wonderful
pieces of art.

Store, Alton Village Pizza, The Toy Box, Deer Run Farm, Walmart,
Maxfield’s Hardware, The Frog Pond, Tastefully Simple-Kathy Nourse, the
Chmiel Family, and the Littlefield family.
Our raffle was a success and it
