Barnstead Resident To Participate In Cancer Walk
Sixty miles, three days, thousands of steps and months of
preparation to make a personal difference in finding the cure. Sharon
Kriete, a resident of Barnstead, will be joining hundreds of other women
and men to participate in the 2010 Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure
walk in Boston. Participants will walk 60 miles during the 3 days
to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and
community-based breast health and education programs.
This
will be Sharon’s first time to participate in the event. She will be
walking in memory of Barbara Authier, who was also a resident of
Barnstead and who passed away in March. Barbara, or “Meme” as the
kids called her, was a much-loved daycare provider. The kids in her care
thrived on her energy and her love for them. Barbara’s life was
cut short and Sharon feels that by her participation in this walk, she
may help others who are fighting this disease.
More
than 1.3 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer globally and
more than 465,000 die each year. To help find a cure and to help Sharon
reach her goal, please consider making a donation. To make a donation,
or for more information, please visit
www.the3day.org or
call 1-800-996-3DAY (3329).

Summer
Sunday School
Looking for something to do with your family this
summer? Something fun, life-changing and free! Join us this summer at
the Center Barnstead Christian Church for our Summer Sunday School. Our
program will begin on Sunday, July 11th at 9:00 AM, and will continue
throughout the summer every Sunday morning from 9:00 AM-9:45 AM.
There will be three classes offered during this time. The first one is
for kids ages 4 through the 6th grade. This class will be taught by
different people from within our church each week. A nursery will be
provided for children younger than 4 years old. The second class will be
for adults on church membership. Forrest and Jackie Young will be
teaching this class. The third class will be for the teens and adults.
This will be a video-driven study taught by Chip Ingrim entitled, “True
Spirituality According to Jesus”. This study complements the Living on
the Edge book, which looks specifically at Romans, chapter 12. Romans 12
is the START HERE for the Christian life. What most Christians sadly
misunderstand is that God isn’t into religious activities or
performance-based Christianity. Instead, Romans 12 reveals to us a
relational profile of what it means to be a disciple, as well as a
proven pathway to becoming more like Jesus every day.
Come and bring
your family this summer!
For more information about our Summer Sunday
School, please call the church at 269-8831.
The Center Barnstead
Christian Church is located on Route 126, next to the Town Hall.
